DIY Salty Coffee Scrub

salty coffee scrub

I love making my own products to save money.  Today I made a Salty Coffee Scrub.  This scrub is perfect to use after gardening.  Thia scrub provides extreme exfoliation while leaving your skin silky soft. This recipe can be adjusted to your liking.  You can really be creative and make it your own. This is what I used in mine.

1 Cup Coconut Oil

1 Lb Epsom Salt

1 Tablespoon Coffee

15-20 Drops Coffee Oil

The first thing I did was whipped the coconut oil. If you want a dryer scrub then cut the Coconut Oil down to 1/2 Cup. It probably took 10-15 minutes before it reached a consistency I was happy with.

I was happy with this consistency so the next thing I did was add the Coffee Oil.  Like I said this recipe is really easy to modify, you could omit the Coffee and Coffee Oil and use different essential oils.  I have found that Lavender, Lemon, and Ylang Ylang Essital Oils make a great combination.   If using a different combination of oils make sure to do your research first.  Some oils cause sensitivity to the sun, so it’s best to always research first.

Next I added the Coffee and Epsom Salt.  You can also use Sea Salt.  I like using Epsom salt because of the benefits you get from magnesium.

Once everything was added I mixed to combine all the ingredients together.  I then stored in mason jars.

If you make a large amount of scrub then you can add Vitamin E oil to store for a longer amount of time.

This scrub is fantastic and only cost a fraction of what I would pay for a specialty scrub.
